In 2010, InterpretAmerica held its first Summit, with the primary goal of simply gathering stakeholders from across the interpreting profession into the same room to meet each other. It's hard to believe that less than 10 years ago, many key players in our profession had not only not met each other but didn't know that many associations, organizations or specializations even existed.
Today, as interpreters and translators, we celebrate our day. For InterpretAmerica, International Translation Day is special. We work hard to fulfill our mission to raise the profile of interpreting, and today we are very excited to announce two unique interpreting events for next year that we think will bring real value to you and to our profession.
First, InterpretAmerica 6 is officially set for Washington D.C. next June. Second, we are very happy to present you the inaugural launch of a brand new conference: Lenguas 2017. Lenguas will take place in Mexico City next fall and represents a new collaborative between InterpretAmerica and the Fundación Italia Morayta.
