Join us in Mexico City for Lenguas 2019, January 24-26

Lenguas 2017 made industry history in Mexico by:

  • Bringing together over 250 translators, localizers and transcreators, and conference, indigenous and sign language interpreters under one roof.

  • Publishing and sharing the results of the first-ever survey conducted on the Mexican translation and interpreting market (see below).

Lenguas 2019 is being held at the start of the International Year of Indigenous Languages. We are working to put together a standout program that will celebrate Mexico and the Americas' deep cultural and linguistic heritage, leveraging them for the modern communication age.

The Lenguas program provides the perfect mix of keynote speakers, plenary and panel sessions, networking opportunities and two full days of high-quality training for translators and interpreters.

Mexico has a robust language services market that is full of opportunities for practitioners, educators and agencies alike. Whether you are based in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central or South America, this conference has something for you.

Did you know that?

  • Spanish is the international language most spoken by native speakers around the world and one in four is from Mexico.

  • Mexico is the largest producer of Spanish-language content in the world.

  • Mexico ranks first in Latin America in the World Bank’s Doing Business Index.

Stay tuned for updates on the preliminary program, call for papers and conference venue and hotel.

Lenguas 2017 took place in Mexico City, September 28-30.

More than 200 translators and interpreters from all areas of Mexico's language services met together under one roof for the first time.

One of the seminal achievements from Lenguas 2017 was the publication and dissemination of the Survey on Translation and Interpretation in Mexico.
