Katharine
Katharine Allen is a well-known interpreter educator and curriculum developer. She has decades of experience training interpreters across diverse settings, including short-course trainings, online, at conferences and events and for universities.
Katharine is a licensed trainer and provides curriculum design for academic and licensed training programs. Katharine is co-author of The Indigenous Interpreter® Manual and Workbook, The Community Interpreter® International: An International Textbook and The Medical Interpreter-A Foundation Textbook for Medical Interpreting. She developed courses and taught for the Glendon College Masters of Conference Interpretation in Canada for 8 years. She has also co-authored several interpreting textbooks and created numerous interpreting curriculums and provides language access consulting.
Katharine specializes in community (including healthcare and educational) interpreting and cross-training legal, healthcare and conference interpreters. She is currently co-authoring the upcoming publications: The Remote Interpreter and The Educational Interpreter.
