InterpretAmerica uses Wix.com to power its website. When we collect personal data from our subscribers, we are using the tools that Wix offers. Wix has also tools in place that will allow InterpretAmerica is give users access to the specific personal data InterpretAmerica collects when they subscribe and use our website, as well as the ability to delete such information if desired. 

FINANCIAL DATA

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, such as when you register for an InterpretAmerica online or on-site event, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”  Please note, all payment transactions are processed through a gateway provider, such as Paypal, and are not stored or processed on our servers.

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;

  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or promotional materials relating to our services.

CHILDREN ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT (COPPA) 

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States' consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children's privacy and safety online.
