This week InterpretAmerica is at the Globalization and Localization Association's (GALA) annual conference in New York City. Many of you are familiar with the InterpretAmerica Summits that started in 2010, where we bring together interpreters, professional association leadership, language service companies and end users to raise the profile of interpreting. Think! Interpreting is different. This collaboration with GALA allows interpreting to be front and center at the annual conference of the largest trade assocaition for language services in the world.

The decision to put interpreting inside GALA’s main business conference rather than alongside it is the detail that stuck with me, since language work tends to stay invisible until something goes wrong.
